This post will be primarily focused on around the idea of Americans joining France. Now it's obvious to me there is a lack of understanding within the community that Americans can join nations other than the Colonies and Great Britain. I do however understand the appeal of those nations. These being heritage, history, and the fact that both nations speak English primarily. I am here today to end this misconception.
It is without a doubt that France in RotS will need Americans to join this great European Empire, and there are reasons I will list below that explain why. I also would like to state that every reason for Americans to join France has nothing to do with Nouvelle-France and our interests in America/Canada.
So first and foremost, France offers a stable environment of growth in the Caribbean that no other nation at this point can guarantee. Our Caribbean ports are not Client nations or French companies.. no they are ports that will act the same as the French ports on our mainland. This ensures that those who wish to establish business or a career in naval successes in the Caribbean will not be interrupted by political strife that comes with Client nations or company boards. Of course, you could argue that Spain offers this same deal, but not only is Spain yet to be founded, they are also extremely overreached having lots of territory that will cause their government and military to be preoccupied at launch. These include Mexico and Florida.
Continuing this point, American players who join the French Empire will be able to hold positions such as governor but also have representation in the French government and be able to participate in political campaigns and perhaps even run for Prime Minister in the future elections. France will face no issues or distractions, like Great Britain will face, with the American colonies and their noble pursuit of Independence. Again, you could mention Nouvelle-France and how they will most likely want independence. The reason I said that none of this post will apply to Nouvelle-France, is because under my government I would like to ensure Nouvelle-France's independence and partnership in securing the Atlantic for France and her allies.
I think the biggest takeaway for American players who will read this in the near future is this.. France can offer SECURE positions in the Caribbean for Americans due to the time zone issues that would come up with French players trying to fill those roles. I believe most logical players of both American and French backgrounds would agree to this point. This means that our Caribbean fleet, ports, and trade could all be operated by American players while still maintaining fair and equal representation in French politics. Very appealing if you ask me.
The one point I would like to add to all of these benefits, as a possible negative, is the fact that all Americans joining France but also other foreign nations, should understand we're representing people of a different culture. In doing so, we should always act in a manner that promotes their cultures and keep our American mindsets out of our decisions, but not necessarily our opinions, which should be allowed to be freely voiced. To add, there is also the issue of understanding the French language, but this is a barrier that is overcome with the fact that English is the business language of the world as well as technology. I think this can simply be overlooked by both nationalities when working together to ensure French success.
With all of this being said, I would like to invite all American players looking for a home in a nation of one mind that can offer security and room for growth.. to join the French Empire and our Discord @ https://discord.gg/eCDPuqpKG9

Inuit Nation Discord:
Thank you for your post, Sir!
I would like to discuss a leadership of the French Empire for an American. Joining France as an American, there can certainly be nothing amiss with that. But I think you aspire a leadership position. And that makes for an interesting discussion.
I found this kind of dialogue a bit lacking on the British front, where claiming the leadership of Britain by an American seemed much more about the interests of the colonies than about representing a nation's interests. So we started on the wrong foot there. But you lead the way in opening up this debate!
I am not French so I have no stake in this discussion. And more so, I am not for any nationality being banned from another nation. But I am in complete agreement with you that it should be about the interests of the nation you represent first and foremost, you serve the people and legacy of a nation.
And to anyone's concerns about mixed interests we should add that the developers have made it abundantly clear that those that will become important governmental officials now, will not yield real power until after an election. So the people, the House of Lords to be precise, will still decide.
There are a few things specific to the French I wish to ask of you:
The French are particularly proud of their language. And are not as well taught in English as some peoples. Whenever I am in France I notice it's hard to get by without showing the French the courtesy of speaking their language. So we can expect the French gamers will have the tendency and wish to speak French in their own nation.
So what level is your French? I know there are some Americans that speak French, and there are even some French regions, but generally multi-language talents are not greatly bestowed upon our American cousins. I am of the opinion that with your specific ambition comes the requirement to be pretty fluent in French.
Do you also agree with me that Americans that join the French Empire in high positions should be fluent French speakers? And that the official language in the government chambers should be French and it should not be demanded of the French to have to speak English?
Do you agree that the National Newspaper in France should also be in French?
My other question:
You speak of strategy. I take your words as someone that aspires leadership within the French government. Although perhaps you did not mean your words thus. So forgive me if I have a wrong take on your meaning.
The Caribbean ports, apart from Cap‑Français, are minor. Your client nation Nouvelle-France holds strategically important territory in North America. But much more important is the Indian territory of the Compagnie française pour le commerce des Indes orientales. These are economically very significant! Likely twice as large as the American and Caribbean territories combined.
You spend a lot of words on the Caribbean, quite a bit less on Nouvelle-France, an no word at all on your most important territory in the hands of the CFIO. Which is under direct threat by both the Mughal, Maratha and British and Dutch and Spanish. And possibly even China and Japan. It will be an enormous blow to France to lose these territories.
So my concern here is: are you, as an American, not too much with your mind in the American continent? Are you fully versed in France's Asian past and interests? In France itself, if you would ask any Frenchman or woman about their colonial past, they would likely mention India, Indochine, North Africa, etc., before they would even think of the America's. The very regions you are currently overlooking in your plea.
Of course, if as an American leader, you are aware you might have a historical and regional bias, and you are willing to learn and overcome this and become a ruler in Paris with his eyes on the world, not the Americas alone, this can be remedied. And there is plenty of time to prepare yourself thus.
I'm just curious whether you see this as a danger for any American origin leader of the French Empire, that they might not understand the perspective from Paris.
Anyway, I thank you for opening such a debate. And I do agree with you that Americans should seriously consider joining the great French Empire, as it has much to offer. It is worth it for the cuisine alone, not to mention the language, fashion, literature and the most refined people!

Happy New Year to you good Sir, it is quite nice to still see your presence on this forum. Before I begin I would also like to let me be known that I appreciate not only the questions but also the time you spent in coming up with these questions, for they are important to answer.
In my response I want it to be clear that I have spent some time looking over your post, trying to come up with the larger, more important, questions than perhaps some minor ones that fall under them (such as if the French newspaper is going to be in French). So without further delay, let me list your main questions, or points, below.
Now before I begin answering these questions, let me first address several key points. Number one, all of my responses to this post will be answered by the person behind the screen, not as my character. This means I will be using modern analogies and information to answer your questions instead of placing myself in 1750. Number two, this game is realistically 5-7 years from launch (though hoping it’s sooner) meaning there is plenty of time to hurdle any language or cultural barriers that have formed outside this game between French and American players, or players of all nations.
With this being said, let us begin…
In closing I want to add a few more points that relate to my previous answers. The first being that English is the number one business language of the world, meaning more people know English as a first or second language than any other. This being said, I am also aware that France is one of the nations that this does not apply to, due to their strong national opinion on their language. However, as a leader of men and women and more importantly gamers, we wish to cross those gaps and come out better in RotS.
On the topic of Nouvelle-France. I have not taken a political stance, nor will I, or any members of the French community (at this point)... because of what it has done to the Great Britain community over the past 4-6 months. However, the one standing point I do have, that will not waiver, is my promise of granting independence and hopefully protectorate status of Nouvelle-France. Again, much more of the mechanics on this need to be explained by the developers before we go too far into this. However, Nouvelle-France and France, in my mind, are two independent nations that are working as one while development continues. This means that we are using one Discord, one House of Lords, etc. so that we can build a strong bond between the two nations to ensure shared success, by any means, when launch arrives.
As for the CFIO, we are actively out recruiting Indian gaming groups or players who wish to join us all on this challenging but interactive and successful creation of the French Empire in RotS.
Thank you for your response and I look forward to hearing more from you, for it does help me explain my wants, and desires as a man representing France in RotS.
Jacques, Premier Ministre de la France
Inuit Nation Discord:
Let no one say, Sir, that you are a man without a plan! That is a truly elaborate reply.
I would humbly offer some suggestions for your strategy as you laid it out, might you find it helpful. But I also detect some good thinking that encourages me you are on a good route.
As for the CFIO, we are actively out recruiting Indian gaming groups or players who wish to join us all on this challenging but interactive and successful creation of the French Empire in RotS.
This is certainly the best idea I have seen so far from the organizing communities. This might be hard to achieve now, because I have not seen to many Indians as yet, but that will undoubtedly change. You will have to offer them enough of an advantage so that they will not be tempted to fight for the regional Indian nations. And might I offer the suggestion that parts of Russia, Eastern Europe, Indonesia, and perhaps even Australia, might be in time zones still convenient enough to keep up service in the CFIO. It takes some calculation perhaps to see what convenient time zones are. And a family member serving in the armed forces of the Company does not need to have their family home in the region! So it's all about what are convenient gaming hours for a person.
Therefore, I can safely say that Americans will fill a large portion of this game’s final player population over all European countries. If I am wrong in this, I will be the first to admit my mistake.
I think you will be wrong in this. The numbers are not on your side. And the game mechanics are not on your side either. Believing in this might interfere with your ambitions, while I think your ambitions are perfectly feasible if you stay French enough.
A few issues with Americans in Europe:
The developers have already shared the current statistics with us a while back. It revealed that the USA is the largest gamer group with one third, but a larger gamer group is Europe, however, fractured in many smaller countries.
Let's say the USA has 180 million gamers. And France has 34 million gamers. Those are the proportions. (I'm just taking these total gamer numbers, for RotS these will be proportionately lower of course, like 0,1% or so, but never mind) Lets assume that most American gamers will want to play in the USA. The Colonies and other American nations. Let's say that applies to 80%. Then 36 million remain that want to play in Europe. I think that is overly optimistic, because Europe is a tricky timezone and language zone for them to play in. But on this 20% assumption, it's just about the same number of American gamers as there are French gamers. 50/50 in proportion. But there are 27 (?) different European nations. Not all these Americans want to play in France. Let's be optimistic and say you can get 10%. 2,6 million Americans to 34 million French. And I know the French, they are very nationalistic and very attached to their language. You can assume most French will play for France. So let's say for every American you will have ten to twelve Frenchmen.
I might be wrong (but I don't think so), but lets be enormously optimistic, I'm off by more than half, and you'll still have one American for every five Frenchmen.
I think that whichever way you turn it, the (real) French will outnumber the non-French in France by a significant number. It's just how this numerically works out. This means that in the House of Lords in Paris the government will be judged and chosen by a majority of French gamers.
But on the outside no-one can see who's French and who's not French in this game. You're French if you join France. So it doesn't really matter, does it? The French will only notice you're not French when you speak or write French poorly. Or they will notice if you behave in an un-French manner.
We in Europe have to deal with the French on a daily basis. So I have an idea what you can expect. The word 'chauvinist' is not a French word for no reason. They are distinctly proud of their culture and language, and certainly the majority of French are convinced they are superior to other nations. They are not the most forward European country when it comes to accepting foreigners, although they can be gracious if they choose to be, and the cities and countryside can be very different, France is a big place with many subcultures.
Will they accept you and the other Americans? I think if you are distinctly French, if you stand for all that is French, why not? They will certainly respect you greatly for having learned French! But they do not like being told what to do. You have to bend to the French way of doing things. Pushing a programme that does not feel French, that will kill you.
I think the French Empire will be a very proud Empire. Loyal to its own people but demanding of their loyalty too. And a stubborn and haughty Empire at times. The French can be uncompromising. So you are right to be careful in discussing Nouvelle-France to be independent. I think that might be an unpopular view with the French majority. They will ask why it needs to be independent. Is it not good enough for them to be a proud member of the French Empire as a client nation? I think the French will have an ambition that will be no smaller than world domination. They are unlikely to be the people of modesty and small ambitions. Their leaders always speak big and theatrical words. Their fiercely independent hearts filled with patriotism. Their minds are sharp and they are well capable of outsmarting their enemies to achieve their goals.
But that, Sir, is just my opinion. Vive la France! I wish you the best of luck! You are surely striving for a noble goal.

As a Southern American, with Colonial heritage, I can assure you I think just like the majority of the French people. The only difference being language and the fact that we're across the future battleground of RotS, the Atlantic Ocean. I believe that there is a lot of similarities with nations across this globe but there will always be a deciding factor between all players across the Rulers of the Sea community. That factor is we're all gamers. No matter if we're French, American, or any other nationality we will all be here wanting to learn and play this game.
Where I hope to come in, is as an American player who understands or is willing to learn what I don't understand. No matter what, my goal from day one in creating this community has been to be for the French people as if I am one of them. This is in fact why I did not decide to create this community without reaching out to the only French player I knew and discussing if it was possible. The challenge of completing this task, is so appealing to me, that I will do what is needed to make it succeed and that is what separates me from your average American playing Prime Minister in a foreign nation.
I feel as if I can bring a lot to the table, even as someone who will sound funny speaking French in a Discord call, but this post is not about me nor will it ever be. This post is about France and how we make her succeed. It started out as a call to Americans looking for a place they can call home, and my goal was to show them how great of a home France can be if we're all in this together and not divided by cultural differences. Though I know these differences matter, I truly believe in the people I have surrounded myself with, in creating this French community. This belief will soon turn into passion as we begin to organize the teaching of the foundations of what it means to be French in 1750. From that point on, the French Empire will show no retreat nor lack of unity, for when all nationalities come together at the same table and can think, discuss, and yes maybe translate a little... that is what everyone will fear in RotS. A nation that has no limitations is truly an Empire in a video game, and with my leadership but more importantly our community, we will make it so.
This response was written without as much thought as my previous. Though, to me it has more power. I did not sit and think for hours to figure out what to come back with... no this was written in truth and passion. In complete summary, please realize this French Empire in RotS is filled with great leaders who are in all the right places to bring about something no one person has ever accomplished and in reality no one person will accomplish it. Only all of our community, consisting of French players but also all players from the globe, will make this possible. Now we just have to make it so.
Inuit Nation Discord:
I salute this interesting discussion. I will try to not be too much abrupt in my remarks, so I'll try to not be too much French, but natural might come back very fast. I hope also that you will forgive me if I'm not so much accurate in some terms or in the form, after all I'm just better at french 😋
I always like to see how foreigners do see France and if there are clichés used here that are true or not, and it is always useful to take into account those way of seeing your nation. It also provocates interrogations onto my own country's History and makes me look for answers and historical researches, always useful to refresh or learn new things. So, those discussions are very interesting on a personal way.
Technicaly France had 2 Empires. First one was Napoléon Bonaparte (+50 years) and second one was Napoléon III (+100 years). So right now we should only speak about Royaume de France. But I guess I'm just messing up with you here and this time period was what we can call the first colonial empire. The second colonial empire came later but in a way was just the continuation of the first.
Are you fully versed in France's Asian past and interests? In France itself, if you would ask any Frenchman or woman about their colonial past, they would likely mention India, Indochine, North Africa, etc., before they would even think of the America's. The very regions you are currently overlooking in your plea.
There I would say it depends on who you're asking that, mainly how old the person is. So basicaly I might be wrong here as I don't know how things are taught at school nowadays and I would therefore give a middle-age view (no I'm not from Middle Age, I'm just not old and not young anymore). Here in your list I just see references to the late Colonial Empire and not to the first colonies. Because one sure thing is, Québec has a special place. We don't call it the "Belle Province" for nothing. We love them for our shared past but also because of their strong personality in defending their rights against Perfid Albion. 😉 I don't know if they like that but for sure we see them also as our "cousins" and I believe in this way we highly respect their wishes. But that's a "social" point of view that can be wrong from me and for sure it's not necessarily a gamer's point of view. North Africa is irrelevant in 1750 but has for sure an important part, but this will be later, same for Indochina and as for India this is somewhat forgotten I believe as they were smaller parts. As for the Caribeans, I think we will have to see how economicaly in the game each colony is important before saying that only Cap-Français is important. This might be true economicaly but not necessarily socialy today. The "minor" ones you say are just important places.
I'm ambivalent on how to take some words, is it good or bad, so I won't be blunt but it was highly appealing... 😋 At some points I even thought you were talking about the English Empire 😉
They are distinctly proud of their culture and language, and certainly the majority of French are convinced they are superior to other nations.
We're not superior, we're just better 🤣 to anybody in the world of course and even in the universe. More seriously we're just proud of what we have achieved (in many aspects) but I believe this is absolutely not specific to the French, you can say that of every nation. Good or bad, I can't judge, France certainly had a big influence in european history and also more globaly.
They are not the most forward European country when it comes to accepting foreigners, although they can be gracious if they choose to be, and the cities and countryside can be very different, France is a big place with many subcultures.
I will say we are a wary people with any unknown person but once you're a friend this means a lot. Paris isn't France, just a part of it and cities and countryside are very different. I'm circonspect about "subcultures" (kind of little bad aspect in my mind but will try to take it on a better point) but I will say that those are not subcultures, they are the "terroirs" and are the true people of France and what is making its particularities, its specifities. King was King of France and Navarre, his subjects were his "people of France" meaning they were not just one but multiple and that's what made the Nation later on. So for my part I wouldn't speak about subcultures but would speak of French people. My apologies there, I might be touchy on this point, but for sure we are all proud of our "terroirs" and those are making what France is today and this might be I admit what makes us complicated in some ways.
One sure thing is if you want to play in France you must not hide that you're not French or this might be seen as some treachery. As for the french gamers community, I don't know who will come to play and what will be their goals so at this point all is opened to speculations. From previous experiences, french community can be... complicated 🤣
I really appreciated your posts, very complete ones. Look forward to meet you in a salon parisien.

In both case, the Board will inform all share certificate holders in writing, to the (e-mail) addresses referred to in Article 5. For the sake of completeness, a change in the TCA can only be made by unanimous vote in a meeting of the STAK DG Board of Directors, in which all Board Members are present or represented. If not all Members of the Board are present or represented in a Board Meeting in which a proposal to change the TCA is on the agenda, then a second meeting will be convened, to be held within fourteen (14) days after the first, in which, regardless of the number of Board Members present, a valid decision will be made by unanimous vote. Similarly, it can be decided to fully or partially cancel share certificates issued by STAK DG or to dissolve STAK DG. Upon dissolution of STAK DG, all underlying shares will be transferred to the holders of the corresponding share certificates.
Each holder of share certificates is deemed, by obtaining these share certificates (whether or not upon issue), to declare towards STAK DG, the Board and DG BV to be aware of the possible tax consequences of his/her participation in the capital of DG BV through the share certificates and/or exercising his/her rights therefrom. STAK DG and the Board bear no responsibility towards the share certificate holders in this regard.
